The Ex [Jun. 27th, 2007|01:42 pm]
Here's a Vid of Derek and I on the sling shot (sorry that it's sideways...)

This was followed by a lot of "reaping and sowing" as Marce, Derek and I (pregnent Lisa watching) went on the Big Drop thing, other rides and then the Fireball which looked like this:

we finished the ride, Derek yells "let go again" and they start the machine again, with everyone waiting in line. It was so much fun, and the ride went so long he's yelling, "He's a madman! This machine is broken" and I'm laughing very hard, it was great.

YC Alberta [May. 31st, 2007|10:42 pm]
So last weekend, Vince, Duane and I flew out to Edmonton for YC Alberta. WOW! That's what I say...WOW! 17,000 youth in an arena screaming and worshipping was just amazing. Speaking of worship I saw Crowder, Lincoln Brewster, Leeland, and of course United lead. When they started playing Tell the World at the end of their set I have never heard such a loud ovation, it was deafening. And everyone was jumping and worshipping it was so awesome.

The weekend started with the biggest kickoff I've seen, with pyro, lights, and dancers which was pretty sweet. And ended with a TobyMac concert that was simply amazing. Every song he did was so much fun and better than the CD tracks. He even broke into a trip through the 70's with classic disco/funk songs. I didn't think anything could top my fav Skillet from the night before, but it did. The other main stage concerts were Rebecca St James (Yawn) and Delerious which was alright (sorry not the biggest fan, and Martin wasn't hitting all his notes). I also caught a little of Decyfer Down and Seventh Day Slumber.

I didn't see the other bands that were there, cuz they were during the workshops which were also very good. Among them I was at a worship session with Lincoln Brewster and also one with Joel Houston and the other guys from United. Both had some practical things about worship ministry and were interesting. Also saw a youth ministry session by Phil Dooley which was great. He talked about the power of our words and shared an example how 5 years ago he challenged someone with what they were going to do with their life. Since then he forgot about what he said, but was approached by this guy who thanked him and said that 5 years ago those words changed his life. Even though we may not see the effect of what we do now, it can have long lasting effects.

All in all an amazing weekend, and well worth the journey.

Golf day [May. 19th, 2007|05:30 pm]
So today I went for the first round of golf of the year...with this guy...

The golfing attire made me laugh really hard. Jiggins beat me by 4 strokes...I shot a 73, which is a good score except for the fact that we only did 9 holes...but it wasn't as bad as it's been before. Here's Vesty in action:

Mervin and Blueberries worked the cart, and my golf club dance made Owen laugh...good thing that didn't get on tape...

booooo bad inning [May. 15th, 2007|11:45 pm]
How do you let in 5.6 billion runs in one inning...that wasn't pretty fun...so we're within 2 runs, then we lose by 21...uhhhhhhhhh

Sleep...or watch Warriors game...or do homework...I think Warriors will win this battle...maybe even the game...I like dots...

to play or not to play... [May. 12th, 2007|11:37 am]
I've missed Sunday afternoon basketball for 2 weeks. I could play this week, but my ankle is purple, and still kinda hurts, but only minorly swollen now. If I didn't have a baseball game tuesday, I'd totally play, but I gots to be good for that...decisions...

How did I get so injury prone, I never used to be hurt, in the last year I've had a broken hand, black eye, a bummed wrist, and now a spained ankle...what's the deal?

YC!! [May. 7th, 2007|07:05 pm]
So this weekend was YC. To use a word from a certain someone's blog, it was ridonkulous...
we need to have a bajillion young people there from now on. Music was good (seeing the Grits was cool) Hanging out with all my people was fun as always. Reggie was "off da hook" (I'm trying to be cool like him). Here's a vid I found of him. He told this story to us too:

I missed the message Saturday night, but when Vince and I walked into the room as Reggie was wrapping up, I go to Vince and say, "something powerful is going on here". You could just feel God's presence in the room. It seemed every single person has having a significant moment with God, sooooo cool.

Yay for YC, let's keep that fire goin and "fight for our God!"

Car [Apr. 28th, 2007|04:14 pm]
So I went to the car auction today. I almost bought this

This one was a 2002, had only 70,000 kms on it. And I almost snuck it for $2950...it was paused for awhile, and about to end, then some buddy decided to bid against me. We went back and forth for a bit (my only experience at an auction has been with pies, hehe) I stopped at $3300 he got it for $3400. Guess it wasn't meant to be. I actually don't really desire a Ford Focus, but it was the greatest deal of the day, so I went for it. I can't believe I was actually close to parting with my Sunfire...it's been 7 years and 200,000 kms, and things are all slowly going on it... it's time :(

Street of interestings [Apr. 25th, 2007|06:43 pm]
Dropping Marce off at home recently has brought a couple interesting happenings. Monday there was a racoon galavanting down the street. A racoon in the heart of Osborne village...

But on the weekend was the craziest...we were just getting out of the car, and hear a siren. not unusual for Osborne, but the first thing we saw was a brown car zoom right past us down the street...followed right behind by a police cruiser with sirens and lights blazing...A REAL LIFE HIGH SPEED CHASE RIGHT BEFORE MY EYES! That was pretty exciting. I could have driven out of the parallel parking spot, smashed the speeder, saved the day, and wrote off my car in one shot. But I didn't. It was still very cool and exciting to see!

I don't believe I'm stooping this low. [Apr. 19th, 2007|08:33 pm]
So growing up with a little sister has made me watch some shows I wouldn't be proud to admit I've watched. Growing up it was Beverly Hills 90210, and even been forced to listen to New Kids on the Block. Tonight this continued. She's here at the house and she turns on the TV and I happen to catch the beginning of Grey's Anatomy (her new favorite show)...then I get stinkin interested and now I have to see what happens...There is no way I'm watching another one of these...that would be embarrassing...I guess I didn't have to blog about it...at least I got her into the UFC!

Easter service [Apr. 2nd, 2007|05:52 pm]
So if you are bored on Sunday, come out to Church of the Rock for our easter service. It's going to be soo funny. Here's a link for the promo video: http://churchoftherock.ca/ChurchOfTheRock/Default.aspx?tabid=264

There is so many funny things in the works. Let's just say that I had to call a costume place today for various things and the person at the store says in a surprised voice, "What is this all for??" hehe.

Raquetball? [Apr. 2nd, 2007|09:06 am]
So they're renovating the squash courts for a month and a half. So what are we to do? Time for raquetball. Now I've never played raquetball, and everyone always thinks I play raquetball and I have to correct them and say squash. IT IS NOT THE SAME THING FOLKS! After playing it today for the first time I can definately say that now. The raquet is stubby, and the ball is soooo bouncy. Here's a comparasion:

raquetball=superball (one of them ultra bouncy jobs)
squash=bean bag

but it is funner (that's right, funner) than I thought it would be. And I smoked Duane 2 games in a row. That's my story, time for work.

Cheetahs [Mar. 27th, 2007|10:25 pm]
My favorite animal as a kid. I used to draw them, i drew a good one once. (That's right Jibbins, it was a good one, didn't look like an egg). Speaking of cheetahs, watch this:

And Italian McDonald's is great...

Old friends [Mar. 25th, 2007|08:45 pm]
Apparently I haved blogged in 23 days...and people have made comments so I guess I better start bloggin again.

Here's my thoughts from last week. I realized how special a time your elementary and high school years are. Memories of Wade and I growing up. So many fun times that I had forgotten about, that all came back to me. Now he's gone. How weird is that? It's totally not right, Wade was a great guy and now I'm sure he's making Jesus laugh...only Wade...

Along those lines, I saw a bunch of old friends at the funeral. It's been 10 years since we graduated and it's kinda cool how you can just get together and talk like old times. Makes me feel like we should all still be good friends and hanging out, but we've kinda all moved on with our lives.

I miss High School. Don't get me wrong, I love my life now, and the journey God brought me on, but I still miss high school. Those were good days. I miss being a kid... maybe that's why I still act like one. Maybe that's why I have such a passion for Jr High's cuz I wish I was one...HAHA, no I'm good with where I'm at, it's all goooood.

There...a blog entry...now back to my regularly scheduled homework...

boooooo sick [Mar. 2nd, 2007|05:24 pm]
So I wake up this morning, finish preparing my message for tonight at home, have some lunch and then start to get a little dizzy. Then dizzy goes to feeling sick, so I lay down for a bit, and it ain't getting better. I take a gravol pill and the thing tasted so gross that I threw up 4 times right after eating it, guess it ain't going to work now...so no youth for me tonight BOOOOOOOO. apparently Junz is preparing something to speak (YOU DA MAN!)

So i'm stuck to napping, if I move the world starts turning again, it's pretty weird.

On another note, last night was "greattacular" (word courtesy of Donald Cruickshank, used with permission). Apparently I can make Chicken Tetrazzini and it seemed to turn out alright (although is this sickness related??? naaa Marce says she's good :)
